Established in 2002 by industry veterans Trish Gray and Ian Smith, TGIS Aviation embodies a fusion of Trish’s prowess in Engine Management and Ian’s expertise in Aircraft Management.

Over the years, the company has evolved into a robust collective of Technical Experts, each with over 35 years of experience spanning Airlines, MROs, and OEMs. Complementing our core team is our network of international consultants who are renowned for their technical capability and experience.

Trish was initially trained by Rolls-Royce and became their first female technical service representative based in Luton, England and Tel Aviv, Israel.

She subsequently joined Air 2000/First Choice as a Powerplant Engineer and then moved to bmi as Powerplant Manager. By the time she left, Trish was General Manager of Technical Support.

Since 2002, Trish has been a consultant, offering powerplant asset management support to airlines and lessors. She has extensive experience in the engine industry including financial management, technical support and contract negotiations.

Trish’s specialisms include: expert witness, contract negotiations, engine life-time cost reviews, pre-purchase and mid-term audits/inspections, engine overhauls, on-wing engine management, delivery and redelivery support as well as the selection/purchasing of aircraft engines.

Ian Smith

Ian joined British Airways in 1978 and trained as an Engineering Apprentice. After qualifying, he went on to work for British Midland Airways, Air Europe, Airworld Aviation and Air 2000/First Choice.

He has held a string of managerial positions including: Aircraft Maintenance Manager, Head of Maintenance Control and Heavy Maintenance Manager.

For over 20 years, Ian worked in aircraft technical lease management and aircraft transitions. He has also been a consultant to the airlines, asset management companies and lessors.

Ian’s specialisms include: aircraft asset management technical services, the management of assets between owners and operators, lease technical management, oversight of heavy maintenance checks, pre-purchase reviews, mid-term audits, record inspections, aircraft deliveries, repossessions and general guidance on technical matters.

Charlie was invited to join TGIS Aviation as Managing Director after consulting with the company on their commercial strategy and operations.

Charlie has been involved in running businesses since 2006 and has worked across multiple industries including Mining, Forensics, Commercial Shipping, Surveying and all things Geospatial.

Charlie originally studied engineering and has worked with engineers for over 20 years. She brings a wealth of experience to the role blending her experience in business management with her interest in engineering.

Charlie is also an international keynote speaker and prior to joining TGIS, Charlie ran her own consulting business for 6.5 years.

With a background in OEM engine manufacturer and repair, Paul has over 26 years of experience across a broad spectrum of roles within Rolls-Royce plc and a further 6 years consulting with Rolls-Royce plc.

Paul’s involvement in high level projects has drawn upon his ability to implement technical solutions to complex issues. A highly conscientious and professional individual committed to providing resolutions on a wide variety of customer issues using technical and relationship building skills whilst aiming to meet business and customer expectations.

Paul’s specialisms include: Asset management including finance portfolios, engine acquisitions and disposals, pre-purchase inspections, asset repossession, engine lease returns, engine pre-lease technical data sets, aircraft check technical management, on-time project delivery, engine shop visit management, aircraft pre-purchase inspections, engine exchange contract negotiations, aircraft redelivery project management.

Henrik Rajz

Henrik began his career at Malev Hungarian Airlines in 1983. Progressing from Engineer to Senior Engineer and finally Powerplant Manager, Henrik then moved from Hungary to the UK and took a position at Willis Asset Management Ltd (formerly TES Aviation).

There he worked as a consultant within multiple areas of Powerplant and APU Engineering.

Most recently, Henrik has been working as an Independent Contractor on behalf of Atlas Air and CargoLogicAir. A Hungarian native, Henrik is fluent in English and has been a resident of the UK since 2012.

Henrik’s specialisms include: all areas of engine technical and asset management.

Vikram Singh

Vikram Singh is TGIS Aviation’s first team member based in India, serving as a Technical Records Analyst with a focus on engines.

He previously worked at Flydocs as Project Lead and Senior Engineer in Technical Records, and at AirAsia India as Senior Executive – Technical Records. Vikram brings years of experience in aircraft and engine technical records, lease returns, acquisitions, and sales transactions.

Vikram’s specialisms include: aircraft and engine technical records management, lease return support, engine acquisitions and sales transactions, delivery and redelivery support, life-limited parts traceability, and managing aircraft assemblies.

Senior Airworthiness & Project Engineer

Ken joined TGIS Aviation in 2024 as a Tech Records and Planning Specialist and was recently promoted to Senior Airworthiness & Project Engineer.

He previously worked at Cathay Pacific, holding roles including Maintenance Programme and Implementation Manager and Principal Engineer, where he developed extensive experience in aircraft maintenance, programme management, and technical planning.

Since joining TGIS, Ken has been a key contributor to Optima and CAMO projects, earning recognition for his technical expertise, meticulous attention to detail, and commitment to delivering reliable solutions.

Ken’s specialisms include: airworthiness oversight, technical records management, project engineering, maintenance planning, CAMO support, and optimisation of engine performance and lifecycle management.

Oli joined TGIS Aviation in 2023 as a Business Administrator and progressed to Project Coordinator & Technical Records Support Specialist in 2024.

He has developed expertise in project planning, technical records management, and day-to-day operations, supporting the seamless delivery of TGIS’s aviation asset management services.

Since joining, Oli has played a key role in coordinating projects across CAMO and engine management programmes, ensuring accurate reporting, efficient processes, and effective communication between teams and clients.

Oli’s specialisms include: project coordination, technical records support, operations administration, daily operations, reporting and analysis, and supporting optimisation of aviation asset management projects.

Ashante joined TGIS Aviation in 2024 as a Marketing Apprentice and quickly became a key driver of the company’s marketing strategy.

She leads all marketing activity, including multi-channel campaigns, brand refresh initiatives, website management, social media optimisation, and content creation that showcases TGIS’s specialist services in Engine Asset Management, Optima, and Expert Witness support.

A psychology graduate from Birmingham City University, Ashante applies her understanding of human behaviour to marketing strategy, combining creativity, strategy, and analytics to deliver measurable results. She also represents TGIS at industry events, building valuable relationships that generate real business opportunities.

Her specialisms include digital marketing strategy, brand development, campaign planning and delivery, competitor research, website and social media management, and business development support.
